A night of Roots and Blues. Bring your dancin' shoes and leave your hat at home (Legion Rules). The band will be returning for the third time to party it up with the Coast crowd who love to shake it.

Buddy and the Scarecrow Roots and Blues Revue play popular rock, blues and roots cover songs from the 60’s to present day along with their own originals. Named in 2014 after a song they wrote in an earlier incarnation of the band, they are an assemblage of seasoned Vancouver musicians that have played around the city in various acts over the last three decades. They like to play at a reasonable volume, harmonize vocals and get people dancing. They usually customize a show to the surroundings they’re in and pick appropriate songs from their large catalogue. They always bring smiles to faces and spread good cheer.

A night of forward thinking electronic music featuring:

Texture & Light (Powell River)
electronic dream rock
http://textureandlight.ca/

Texture & Light was formed by recovering DJ Trevor Refix as a way to explore live instrumentation, synthesis, and narrative songwriting, while avoiding the common pitfalls of dance music production. Add in Lyell Woloschuk, a hard-hitting drummer with a recording arts degree, and you have an electronic band with fuzzy guitars, hook-laden vocals, a synthesizer fetish, and a drum machine crush.

Texture & Light live shows are bumping, sweaty affairs that feature a mix of live instrumentation and intuitively interconnected hardware in lieu of boring laptops, dazzled up with a custom-synced lighting rig. Whether they are playing a festival main stage or are crammed in a coffee shop, this band goes all the way.

FirewoodPoetry (Salt Spring Island)
lush electronica
http://firewoodpoetry.net/

Trinity Forbes is a warm hearted girl with a sensitive disposition. She lives on Salt Spring Island, BC. She is told that her music sounds like its own downtempo genre “Lush electronica”. Produced entirely by herself, she performs live with loops from her tracks, a synth, live vocals and a theremin. Always sincere, she reaches deep in every song, to inspire an emotion. She cries at the beauty and loneliness felt everyday. She smiles and faces strangers with admiration and strength. Her music stings with high-hats and punches with kicks. She soothes you with vocals and drowns you with synths.

..."It Just Begun" for me in about 1978 when some of my friends and I figured out that if we put a reostat on the motor power line of our old crappy Realistic direct drive turntables we could actually control the pitch of the records and achieve much more extended layering of our favourite Disco and Funk records. Up until that point the most we could do was short drag mixes using our fingers and drop mixes with the records or the pause buttom of our twin tape decks. Little did we know what lay ahead... I was about 14 yrs old at the time...As things progressed into the early 80's I started breakin' and playing the early electro and hip-hop tracks to the crowds that would show up our parties and club nites....As the years went on, from the mid 80's to mid 90's I aquired full-time nitely DJ Residencies at numerous Underground Clubs,as that back then you play everynite/all nite at the Club, I started playing and loving many different stlyes of music, from hip-hop and electro to new wave and punk to industial,acid-house,new beat to house and techno. Through-out the 90's on I have the pleasure of touring as a House/Techno DJ at numerous Raves, Parties and Club nites all over the Canada, The U.S., England, and Europe. I feel blessed to now be well into my third decade of DJing and sharing the soul,
